1989 Birds Presentation Pack. British Presentation Packs catalogue number PP169 (printed no. 196)
Issued by the Royal Mail on 17th January 1989.
This pack contains a set of four mint stamps, which were produced to mark the centenary of the founding of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. The group of birds shown on the stamps are probably most under threat from pollution and highlight the importance of guarding specific species.
The pack details how the RSPB carry out their work and some of the problems they face. Inside is an image of a watercolour by a young ornithologist, Bridget Edwards.
